After two years of planning we opened successfully in August of 2011,
and have been growing rapidly ever since. Consumer members can select
from hundreds of items listed by our producers
every month. From seasonal vegetables (including kale, chard, lettuce,
arugula, squash, potatoes, pumpkins, onions, shallots, garlic, radishes,
and more) to berries, apples, eggs, beef, pork, lamb, chicken, chevron,
baked goods of every kind, homemade soaps, rugs, baby clothes, frozen
custard and more; the bounty of Eastern Iowa is truly amazing!
The Co-0p operates a distribution center at 201 3rd Ave SW in Cedar Rapids and a secondary order pick up location at the Hillel House at 122 East Market St in Iowa City. See our calendar for our shopping and distribution schedule.
To shop the co-op, or sell through the co-op, you must first become a member.
Producers pay a one-time refundable member share of $75. Consumers pay a
one-time refundable member share of $25. All members pay an annual $10
fee to help defray administrative costs.
Our mission is to increase the resiliency of the local food system in
Eastern Iowa by developing the market, increasing the sale, and
building the infrastructure for fresh, fairly-priced, sustainably produced food in our local region.
We want to partner with consumers, producers, and businesses that
share similar goals. If you share these goals please consider joining or partnering with us!
